Maryhurst
Maryhurst − the Commonwealth’s oldest and most established child welfare agency − reached an important milestone, its 170th anniversary that heralded a groundbreaking ceremony for an expansion initiative at the Louisville campus. Maryhurst management turned to the in.Mode team to create and execute a memorable public relations strategy that dually celebrated the children this venerable agency has helped throughout its many years of existence and to raise awareness for its ongoing fundraising needs.
The press strategy for such a noteworthy milestone required significant planning which entailed a closely collaborative series of brainstorming meetings in.Mode conducted with Maryhurst management and that included everything from event day logistical planning to an extensive online social media campaign. From securing dignitaries and government officials such as Kentucky’s Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson to blanketing the regional and national press outlets, a full-blown PR plan was put into place that garnered significant awareness for Maryhurst.
Press coverage included extensive broadcast segments on Kentuckiana television stations WAVE 3, WHAS 11, WDRB-TV, WLKY-TV, WECT (A WAVE 3 affiliate) as well as print coverage from The Courier-Journal, The Record and Business First.
