Louisville-based Mint Julep Tours is mixing up its own Derby Eve event.
The new “Derby Eve Distilled Exclusive Experience” will be held on May 6, the night before Kentucky Derby 142, according to a news release.
This one’s a bit of a contrast from the tried-and-true parties we’ve come to expect.
It includes an after-hours private distillery tour and tasting at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. After the tour, guests will be served signature cocktails, a bourbon-inspired dinner, live bluegrass music and cigars on the porch.
The cost is $289 per person. That includes transportation from downtown Louisville, the Buffalo Trace Distillery tour and tasting, dinner, cigar or mini julep cup and two signature cocktails. A cash bar will be open as well. There’s also a $239 ticket that doesn’t include transportation.
Tickets and more information are available on the company’s website.
This isn’t the first time Mint Julep has offered an exclusive after-hours tours. I spoke to Higgins about an after-hours tour at Maker’s Mark Distillery last year.
